Model for End-stage Liver Disease. Predicts 90-day mortality in cirrhosis and informs liver transplant prioritization. Original 2001 formulation; MELD-Na and MELD 3.0 are separate refinements.
Values < 1.0 are floored to 1.0 per the original formula
Capped at 4.0 mg/dL. If on dialysis ≥ 2× past week, use 4.0.
