Severe Acute Malnutrition (WHO)

Combines weight-for-height z-score, mid-upper arm circumference, and bilateral pitting oedema to identify moderate (MAM) and severe (SAM) acute malnutrition in children aged 6–59 months. Drives the choice between outpatient and inpatient nutritional care.

Anorexia, severe oedema, vomiting, hypothermia, hypoglycemia, dehydration, sepsis, severe anemia, lethargy/seizures
