Fibrinolytic drug · Fibrinolytic agent
Anistreplase is generated by combining streptokinase with equimolar amounts of Lys-plasminogen. The active site is masked with an anisoyl group, which is slowly removed by deacylation after IV infusion. Like streptokinase, it does not distinguish between fibrin-bound and circulating plasminogen, producing a systemic lytic state.
