Mechanism
Anthrax vaccine adsorbed induces immunity against Bacillus anthracis, the bacterium causing anthrax, protecting against both cutaneous and inhalation forms of the disease.
Indications
prevention of cutaneous and inhalation anthrax acquired by exposure on skin or by inhalation, for certain at-risk adults (18 to 65 years of age), including some U.S. military members, laboratory workers, veterinarians, or individuals handling animals or animal products
Dosing
- Adult
- given as multiple booster injections. CDC recommends intramuscular booster shots at 1, 6, 12, and 18 months, and then annually.
