Mechanism

BNT162b2 contains an mRNA encoding full-length SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, delivered in a lipid nanoparticle. Once injected, the nanoparticles are taken up by antigen-presenting cells (APCs) that subsequently express the spike protein, resulting in an immune response.
