Mechanism

Cabazitaxel, as a taxane, exerts its antineoplastic effect by binding to and stabilizing microtubules. This action prevents the depolymerization of microtubules, disrupting the dynamic equilibrium necessary for proper mitotic spindle formation and function during cell division. The resultant mitotic arrest at metaphase and subsequent inhibition of cell replication leads to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in rapidly proliferating cancer cells.
