Mechanism
Casirivimab is a recombinant human monoclonal antibody that binds to nonoverlapping epitopes of the spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD) as part of a combination with imdevimab.
Indications
treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 in nonhospitalized patients with laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection who are at high risk for progressing to severe disease and/or hospitalization (as part of a combination with imdevimab)
Contraindications
- SARS-CoV-2 antigenic variants of concern emerged that evaded its action, leading to EUA revocation
