Dosing

Adult: 1 g i.v. (single injection just before procedure) for surgical prophylaxis; 1 g i.v. 8 hourly for 5 days (dirty contaminated wounds)
Pediatric: 25 mg/kg i.v. (single injection just before procedure) for surgical prophylaxis
