Mechanism
Des-ciclesonide is the active metabolite of ciclesonide. Corticosteroids enter target cells and bind to GRs in the cytoplasm. The steroid-GR complex moves into the nucleus, influencing gene transcription to suppress inflammation. This involves increasing the transcription of anti-inflammatory genes and suppressing inflammatory genes.
