Mechanism
Provides a mixture of levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3).
Indications
thyroid hormone replacement (some patients report feeling better than on levothyroxine monotherapy)
Pharmacokinetics
Protein binding
Mixture of levothyroxine and liothyronine (~4:1 by weight), supplying a relative excess of T3 compared to normal thyroidal secretion (~11:1 T4 to T3 by weight).
