Mechanism

Fenoldopam is an agonist for peripheral D1 receptors, leading to vasodilation. It also binds with moderate affinity to α2 adrenergic receptors. It dilates coronary arteries, afferent and efferent arterioles in the kidney, and mesenteric arteries.
