Mechanism

Lusutrombopag is an oral nonpeptide thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TRA) that binds to and activates the TPO receptor, stimulating the production of megakaryocytes and platelets in the marrow.

Indications

chronic liver disease–associated thrombocytopenia in patients with a scheduled procedure

Dosing

Adult
3 mg orally once daily for 7 days, beginning 8–14 days prior to the scheduled procedure. The procedure should be conducted 2–8 days after the last lusutrombopag dose.
