Mechanism

Methocarbamol is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. It is suggested that these drugs act primarily at the level of the brainstem and spinal cord by selectively inhibiting polysynaptic reflexes. Its action may also involve sedative properties and blockade of nociceptive pathways, decreasing muscle tone without significantly reducing voluntary power.
