Mechanism

Dalfopristin binds to both the A and P sites of the peptidyl transferase center of the 23S rRNA of the 50S ribosome. Quinupristin binds to a site that overlaps the macrolide-binding site. Inhibits protein synthesis. Bactericidal. Concentration-dependent killing.
