Nucleotide analogue (phosphoramidate prodrug) · Antiviral (Anti-Coronavirus, Anti-Ebola)
Remdesivir is a phosphoramidate prodrug that is anabolized in cells to the active moiety, remdesivir triphosphate. It acts by inhibiting RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). The RdRp uses remdesivir triphosphate as a substrate, leading to the incorporation of remdesivir monophosphate into the growing RNA, which then terminates chain elongation after three more nucleotides are added.
