Mechanism

Simethicone is an inert, nontoxic surfactant. It collapses gas bubbles by forming a thin layer on their surface, acting as an effective antifoaming agent.

Indications

Dosing

Adult: 40 to 125 mg four times daily after meals.
Pediatric: 20 to 50 mg four times daily after meals and at bedtime, depending on age.
