Mechanism

Sipuleucel-T is designed to induce an immune cell response against prostate acidic phosphatase (PAP). Peripheral blood cells isolated from the patient are exposed to human recombinant protein PAP–GM-CSF. APCs among the blood cells take up and process PAP and direct the immune response toward the antigen.
