Mechanism
Elexacaftor is a CFTR corrector. It enhances trafficking and insertion of mutant CFTR proteins into the plasma membrane.
Indications
Cystic fibrosis (in patients homozygous or heterozygous for the common deletion mutation, CFTR-p.F508del, often in combination with potentiators)CF encoding at least one F508del variant (in combination with tezacaftor and ivacaftor)Numerous less common CF mutations (in combination with tezacaftor and ivacaftor)
