Mechanism
Hexylresorcinol, a phenol derivative, exerts its antiseptic and antifungal effects by disrupting bacterial cell membranes and denaturing bacterial proteins. This action leads to the leakage of intracellular components and ultimately cell death.

- 200 mg vaginal pessary; PIODIN 10% solution, 10% cream,. immunocompromised patients, including AIDS. DEQUADIN 0.25 mg lozenges.
