Mechanism

Hexylresorcinol, a phenol derivative, exerts its antiseptic and antifungal effects by disrupting bacterial cell membranes and denaturing bacterial proteins. This action leads to the leakage of intracellular components and ultimately cell death.

200 mg vaginal pessary; PIODIN 10% solution, 10% cream,. immunocompromised patients, including AIDS. DEQUADIN 0.25 mg lozenges.
