Mechanism
Moxidectin, similar to ivermectin, activates ligand-gated Cl- channels, particularly GABA-gated Cl- channels, leading to tonic paralysis of the musculature. It shows a different binding activity for GABA-gated Cl- channels compared to ivermectin and is a poor substrate for P-glycoproteins.
