Mechanism

Teduglutide is an analogue of human glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2), which preserves mucosal integrity by promoting growth and repair of the intestine. GLP-2 impacts the proliferation of epithelial cells lining the GI tract, thereby facilitating intestinal adaptation and enhancing fluid, electrolyte, and micronutrient absorption.
