Mechanism

Terazosin possesses alpha-blocking and vasodilator properties, similar to prazosin. As an alpha1-selective adrenoceptor blocker, it relaxes smooth muscle in benign prostatic hyperplasia, leading to an increase in urinary flow-rate and an improvement in obstructive symptoms.
