Mechanism
Travoprost is a selective FP-prostanoid receptor agonist that primarily lowers intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing the uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor. It also has a minor effect on enhancing trabecular outflow. This combined action effectively reduces IOP, preventing the progression of glaucoma and preserving visual function.
