Mechanism

Gemtuzumab ozogamicin is a humanized monoclonal antibody linked to a cytotoxic agent (ozogamicin), classifying it as an immunotoxin. It specifically targets and binds to CD33-expressing tumor cells. Upon binding, it induces cell cycle arrest and subsequent apoptotic cell death in these malignant cells.
