Mechanism

Romosozumab is an antibody that inhibits sclerostin. Sclerostin is a protein that blocks osteoblast proliferation by inhibiting the Wnt pathway. By inhibiting sclerostin, romosozumab promotes osteoblast proliferation and bone formation. It also initially suppresses osteoclast activity.
