Mechanism

Calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate act as antacids, neutralizing stomach acid. Sodium alginate forms a protective raft on the surface of gastric contents, preventing reflux into the esophagus and reducing symptoms of heartburn.

Dosing

Adult
10–20 mL, to be taken after meals and at bedtime
Pediatric
Child 6–11 years: 5–10 mL, to be taken after meals and at bedtime; Child 12–17 years: 10–20 mL, to be taken after meals and at bedtime
