Triptan · Antimigraine
Also known as FROVA
Frovatriptan is a selective 5-HT1D/1B receptor agonist that interacts potently with 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors. Its antimigraine effects are thought to be mediated by agonism at these receptors, leading to vasoconstriction of dilated cranial vessels and a reduction in neurogenic inflammation and plasma leakage in the duramater. This action decreases the pain associated with migraine.
