Mechanism

Lanadelumab is a humanised monoclonal antibody which inhibits plasma kallikrein activity, thereby limiting the production of bradykinin, a potent vasodilator associated with angioedema attacks in patients with hereditary angioedema.

Indications

Prevention of recurrent attacks of hereditary angioedema (initiated under specialist supervision)

Dosing

Adult
300 mg every 2 weeks, reduced to 300 mg every 4 weeks in those stable and attack free, by subcutaneous injection. Consult product literature.
