Also known as Integrilin
Eptifibatide is a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor that acts as an anti-integrin drug. It exerts its antiplatelet effects by preventing the binding of fibrinogen and von Willebrand factor to the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor on the surface of platelets. This inhibition prevents platelet aggregation, thereby reducing the risk of thrombotic events.
