Mechanism
Nelfinavir is a protease inhibitor that blocks the HIV protease enzyme, which is critical for viral replication. It also acts as a strong inhibitor of CYP3A4 and a known inhibitor of CYP2B6, influencing the metabolism of co-administered drugs.
