Mechanism
Mizolastine is a second-generation H1 receptor antagonist. It reduces the effects of histamine by blocking peripheral H1 histamine receptors. It causes less sedation and psychomotor impairment than older antihistamines due to its minimal penetration of the blood-brain barrier.
