Mechanism

Dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor. It works by blocking the reuptake of serotonin in the synaptic cleft, thereby increasing the concentration of serotonin. This leads to receptor desensitization over time, which contributes to its effect of delaying ejaculation.

Indications

Premature ejaculation in men who meet all the following criteria: poor control over ejaculation, a history of premature ejaculationUsed when required for premature ejaculation (not continuous daily use)
