Mechanism
Fludrocortisone has very high mineralocorticoid activity and insignificant glucocorticoid activity. It increases plasma volume through its mineralocorticoid effects, which can be beneficial in conditions like postural hypotension.
Indications

Dosing
- Adult
- Neuropathic postural hypotension: 100–400 micrograms daily by mouth. Mineralocorticoid replacement in adrenocortical insufficiency: 50–300 micrograms once daily by mouth. Adrenocortical insufficiency resulting from septic shock: 50 micrograms daily by mouth (in combination with hydrocortisone).

- Monitor patient closely in hepatic impairment.
